Why the Hummingbird?

aka: How I Killed My Hair (and then fixed it)

Two worlds collided when I stepped away from my 15-year salon career, and I plummeted from expert salon hair colorist to beginner home colorist.

Besides turning my healthy, shiny hair into straw within a few months of coloring my own hair at home, I could see all the mistakes I was making...but lacked the right tools to self-color. The experience of home hair coloring was one I quickly came to dread. After about a year of putting up with the mess, the lack of control, the over-dyeing, the over processing and the damage, I said enough is enough. I’m a London-trained expert with hundreds of gorgeous hair clients under my belt...surely I can fix this.

Box dyes and self-coloring are not always ideal. But what was really missing, was a hair color applicator that would replace those diner ketchup bottles we get in the box with a tool that replicates the precision and speed of a professional hairdresser’s eye and trained hands. And this simple thought born of frustration  is what launched my next career, as inventor of the Dye Candy Hummingbird. So...why the Hummingbird for home hair color application?  I'll show you.
